Norman Goldfarb, Managing Director

Norman has founded and led seven venture-financed high-technology companies, all of which have achieved leadership positions in their markets. He also recently turned around an enterprise software company. He has experience in diverse industries, with a focus on enterprise software, and hands-on skill in most functional areas, including marketing, sales, business development, technology, human resources, finance and administration. He brings intensity, creativity, empathy, an extensive personal network, and years of experience developing proven solutions to the common challenges faced by small companies in dynamic markets.

Norman has broad experience in the enterprise software industry, having led companies in markets such as enterprise budgeting and forecasting, infrastructure (EAI and B2Bi), knowledge management, online analytical processing (OLAP), virtual reality, computer-aided software engineering, and manufacturing planning, as well as B2B eCommerce and biotechnology.

Notable companies include WhiteLight Systems, which develops and markets the first OLAP (On-Line Analytical Processing) software capable of integrated decision processing; Pillar, the leading enterprise financial planning and budgeting software firm (acquired by Hyperion Solutions); and Calgene, the leading plant genetic engineering company (publicly-held and then acquired by Monsanto.) He has a B.A. degree cum laude in Economics from Yale University and an M.B.A. degree from Stanford University.
